Dr. Sheela Rajan MD, LAc
Lt. Col (Dr.) Sheela Rajan graduated from Kasturba Medical College in India, after which she moved to The United States where she completed her residency training at Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit, Michigan) in 1979.
Dr. Rajan subsequently started her professional career in pathology at Lapeer Regional Hospital in Lapeer, Michigan. During this time she became proficient in diagnostic pathology skills and medical oversight of one of the state-of-the-art acute care civilian hospital laboratories.
In 1989, she relocated to Maryland and entered the United States Air Force. She served as an active duty pathologist at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and subsequently David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base,
She retired from the Air Force in 2011 and joined Acupuncture and
Integrated Medical College in Berkeley. She graduated with a masters degree in Traditional Clinical Medicine and passed her licensure examinations to practice accupuncture in the state of California.
Dr. Rajan's accreditations include Board Certification from the American Board of Pathology (anatomic and clinical), sub-specialty board certification by the American Board of Cytopathology, International Academy of Cytopathology and Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
With a strong background in western medicine, she is keen to practice eastern medicine and correlate both aspects of healthcare delivery.
